What You Will Do
You will work in the job trailer, side by side with a project team building a major commercial construction project.
What You Will Learn
You will learn about managing a multi-million-dollar project, the innovative technology used for planning, scheduling and design, and the wide range of professional roles needed to build great things.
This internship required me to step out of my comfort zone sometimes, which could be difficult, being a high school intern in a high-stakes professional environment. Nonetheless, it was by putting myself through this discomfort that I was able to learn from professionals and acquire knowledge about their work (software, document management, communication skills, on-site coordination, etc.). I have no doubt that what I have taken from these professional mentors will aid me in my path to construction.
2023 Build Up Intern
The most meaningful activity was my daily walks with our field engineer and safety. Not only was it helpful but I got the chance to get to know my colleagues.
